Your resolutions are great and more than that, I believe you are going to knock them out in 2014! Whether you have already made a list of resolutions or not, we have 10 things that are sure to make your year even more successful and fulfilling.
1. Wake Up Early
You’ve heard the saying, “Don’t sleep your day away” or the more popular, “I can sleep when I am dead.” Either way, you’ve probably been told once or twice that waking up early is the way to go. Waking up early believe it or not gives you energy for the day. So wake up sleepy head, and make use of those early mornings before the world starts calling.
2. Exercise
Exercise keeps your body strong for the years to come. Not only that, exercise and running are excellent ways to clear your mind, relieve stress and help you to feel better. Running releases a hormone into your bloodstream that makes you feel great! I guess the rumor is true, “It’s cheaper than therapy!”
3. Drink Plenty of Water
Your body cannot function at its peak without water. It is a great way to feel refreshed and water has also been known to curve your appetite for junk food. So, drink up sister!
4. Turn Off Your Phone, T.V. & Computer At Night
Don’t take everyone to bed with you. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter… it can all wait. Turn off the noise and get a good night’s sleep.
5. Spend More Time Outdoors
Enjoy the great outdoors. I love what Aristotle said, “In all things of nature there is something of the Marvelous.” Let yourself be amazed at mountain steeps, sunrises, rolling waters and sunsets this year.
6. Journal
Journaling has a way of clearing the mind and giving you a sense of release. It’s a great way to dream about where you are going and when you get there, to see where you came from.
7. Love Your Spouse Well
We live in a culture today where marriages are walked into and walked out of just as quickly. We have come to believe that everything should cater… or may I say... center… around us. Loving someone is hard. Putting someone’s interests and well being above your own is not easy or even natural. It is rewarding though, indeed. Love the person who walks through every day with you well. Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds, or bends with the remover to remove: O no! it is an ever-fixed mark that looks on tempests and is never shaken. -Sonnet 116
8. Clear The Clutter
Less is always more. If you want to cut down on stress, cut down on your excess. Keep what you need and in keeping only that, you will find that you are more content than you believed possible.
9. Be Involved In Your Community
There is no better way to give back than to do so in your community. Get out, make friends, and more importantly, be a friend. Take pride in the place you call home and do your part in making it that much more of a great place to live.
10. Do Something You Never Have Before
This year is new; the old has gone and the new has come. Don’t limit yourself. You were created by an extravagant God who designed you with purpose. Don’t doubt what you can do. He is ever more than capable.
