One of the fastest growing cities in Florida is Crestview. It has been given the nickname “Hub City” because it joins Interstate 10 with US Highway 90, Florida State Road 85 and the CSX Railroad. The joining of these major roads is the key behind its exponential growth. At the southern portion of Crestview, Interstate 10 gives quick access to other places in Florida.

History & Activities

Crestview was at one time a major stop for the L & N Railroad, which influenced the growth in the area. It has a strong agricultural history, and though still does it has developed into more of a military town because of the presence of Eglin Air Force Base and the recent expansion of Duke Field.

It is the county seat for all of Okaloosa County. In the past it’s comparably cold winters in the state of Florida gave it the nickname “the icebox of Florida.”

Crestview somehow remains a quiet, southern town even in the midst of such extreme growth. Many of the residents have called Crestview home for many years.

Take a stroll down Main Street to have a taste of southern cooking at Desi’s Restaurant or visit the many stores in the area.

A Place To Call Home

Compared to most parts of Northwest Florida, property in Crestview is considerably more affordable. Prices at the southernmost end of the city have appreciated in recent years.

Crestview is home to Crestview High School Bulldogs and the famous “Lip Dub” video it put out in 2012 that got the attention of the nation.
