This past week Rob attended the 2014 Economic and Housing Forecast forum put on by the Emerald Coast Association of Realtors and Building Industry Association. He came back with incredibly useful and insightful knowledge!
Let's begin with an overall look at our current economy. Unemployment figures are staying around 13% overall. With so many people on the move to create new jobs or create employment themselves, why are we still seeing this two-digit number? Laurel Gaefe with the Federal Reserve out of Atlanta, Georgia spoke about the effects that machinery and advanced technology are having on workers. They have begun to replace the work done by the hand of human professionals with technology.
What about housing? According to Dr. Lawrence Yun, cumulative sales have increased 20%. That's great! In his professional opinion, we will see a healthy market for the next five years.
