Poquito Bayou: Shalimar, Florida

One of the most preferable neighborhoods in the Shalimar area is Poquito Bayou. The bayous of Garnier to the west and the Poquito to the south provide many beautiful waterfront properties for this neighborhood. With the Gulf of Mexico just a few miles away and the calm waters of these bayous, the Poquito Bayou Boat Ramp Park is frequently used for boating activities and a family friendly area to hang out on the water. Poquito Bayou is located in Okaloosa County between Eglin Air Force Base and the downtown area of Shalimar, making it a family and military oriented community. It is just a few miles up the road from Fort Walton Beach where you can go to many great restaurants, movie theaters and shops. Poquito Bayou is also known for its close proximity to many excellent schools: Longwood Elementary School, Meigs Middle School, and Choctawhatchee High School to name a few.
